In Italy, coffee is a tradition: we drink it for breakfast, we offer it to guests when they come visit, and we drink it quickly before rushing to work. And I am sure that the first time I got in contact with coffee must have been around the time I was born. And, as a result, coffee is still a part of my life. Whether I’m about to watch a John Carpenter movie or to read a China Miéville book I make sure to have a good cup of coffee by my side. Espresso of course!
My name is Davide “Trozzo” Maccatrozzo, and I’m an Italian lad who took the decision to move to Scotland after hearing that there are no mosquitos here to ruin my Summer. Once I found out that it’s true, I decided that this was the right country for me. That, and the fantastic views it has to offer.
Now that I’m settled here, I enjoy taking walks in Pollok Park, watching blacksmithing videos on YouTube, reading old fantasy books, and playing with my PlayStation 2.
If only I remembered to bring my beloved guitar up here with me. At Ovenbird Coffee I have the responsibility to take care of our Whisky Aged Coffee line. Understanding these two similar but also different worlds is highly rewarding and transforming these two complex products into a single one is a unique experience I am very proud of.
